On Saturday 8 August 2009, Summer Academy organised its annual special Sports Day and Family Day event. First, all the Summer Academy students did a group parade to showcase the parents and spectators their sports team. The students are very proud to be part of a fantastic team. The group is divided in blue, green, yellow and red team.
After the parade, as a group, the students competed against each other. There were 4 events where the students showcased their abilities and athletic capabilities. After the 4 events, the scores were very tight. After the students' event, it was the turn for the parents to showcase their abilities. BTW, for some parents, it was the first time in years that they can play and feel like kids again !!! One of the events was the balloon bursting competition. The parents looked like gladiators and ready to compete against each other.
At the end, we had the prize giving ceremony. All the participants received a gift and the winner received a medal and a trophy. We all had a BLAST... good job students and parents.. until next year for our next Sports and Family Day...
I would like to applaude the teachers for making this Sports and Family Day a special event.
